 Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel also known as Sardar Patel was born in Nadiad  Kheda District of Gujarat on 31 October 1875.

Sardar Patel Works:

 He served as the first Deputy Prime Minister of India. He played a crucial role in/after Indian Independence Struggle. Because of his work he was also got elected as the President of Indian National Congress.

Story behind Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's title - "Sardar" :

In 1928 Bardroli Satyagraha was started due to raise in taxation on the farmers in Gujarat, even though the crops were destroyed due to the calamities Britishers were not in a position to accept the request of farmers hence there is outbreak of civil disobedience movement by the people. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel played a crucial role in that Satyagraha.
The women of Bardroli had given him the title "SARDAR", for his active role in the movement, SARDAR means a leader/head. 

Sardar's Post independence works:

India usually got fragmented into 562 princely states during the Britisher's rule and it became a major burden for the rulers to unify the INDIAN Sub continent. Most of the states got unified with INDIA easily except Jammu and Kashmir, Junagarh, Hyderabad  
SARDAR PATEL took the responsibility of unifying INDIA.
Sardar Patel with the help of Indian National Army took the 'OPERATION POLO' to unify HYDERABAD with India.
Sardar Patel also Annexed the JUNAGARH into INDIA.
 
Hence the birth anniversary of SARDAR PATEL is observed as the NATIONAL UNITY DAY.
In the symbol of SARDAR the STATUE OF UNITY was build and inaugurated in 2018 on the NARMADA valley Kavadiya colony GUJARAT.  

The statue of unity is the world's highest statue with 182 meters height.

The famous I.P.S cadets training academy (Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy) was named after this legendary personality.

The great soul left this world on 15 December 1950 due to Heart stroke.

Physically he had left this world but his name is forever in the hearts of INDIANS.
